The White-Tailed Deer

The White-Tailed Deer also known as the Virginia Deer, is a medium sized deer with a white tail. It uses its tail to let other deer know enemies are coming. It shoots its tail up and other deer know enemies are coming. The White-Tailed Deer is native to America (all but 5 states). It has also been introdued to New Zealand and some countries in Europe such as Finland and the Czech Republic. The female is called a doe and the male is called a stag or a buck. You can tell them apart because the male has antlers. The deer's coat in the summer and spring is a reddish brown. In fall and winter, it turns to a brownish grey. Its change of color is for camouflage.
